Darlene Bagley’s legal practice focuses on criminal defense for individuals in California and Colorado State and Federal courts. Darlene has represented individuals who have been accused of various criminal offenses, including complex drug conspiracies, child abuse, mortgage fraud, non-capital murder, and domestic violence offenses. Darlene has special expertise in driving while intoxicated cases and related proceedings before the Department of Motor Vehicles. She has served as sole or lead trial counsel in over 40 trials, many of which resulted in acquittals for her clients. Recently, Darlene and Kevin McGreevy obtained an acquittal for a father who had been wrongfully accused of causing the death of his infant daughter. In addition to her robust trial practice, Darlene represents individuals in administrative and licensing hearings, both at the administrative level and on appeal.
Prior to joining Ridley, McGreevy & Winocur, Darlene served as a Deputy State Public Defender in the Denver trial office of the Office of the Colorado State Public Defender representing the indigent accused. At the end of her first year at the public defender's office, Darlene received the Lowrey Kelley Memorial Boot Camp Award, which is awarded to the top first year deputy public defender. During law school, Darlene worked for the Colorado Education Association’s legal department; and prior to attending law school, Darlene was an elementary school teacher in the Aurora, Colorado, public education system. Darlene has used her background in education when representing teachers who have been falsely accused of child abuse and other criminal charges stemming from their employment.
Outside the practice of law, Darlene trains for and competes in half-marathons. She also enjoys all manner of outdoor adventures, including sailing in the San Francisco Bay, and traveling to all corners of the world.
