Darlene Bagley’s legal practice focuses on criminal defense for individuals in both Colorado State and Federal courts. She has represented individuals who have been accused of various criminal offenses, including drug offenses, child abuse, sexual offenses, non-capital murder, and domestic violence offenses. Ms. Bagley has special expertise in driving while intoxicated cases and related proceedings before the Department of Motor Vehicles. She has served as sole or lead trial counsel in over 30 trials, many of which resulted in acquittals for her clients. In addition to her robust trial practice, Ms. Bagley represents individuals in administrative and licensing hearings, both at the administrative level and on appeal.
Prior to joining Ridley, McGreevy & Winocur, Ms. Bagley served as a Deputy State Public Defender in the Denver trial office of the Office of the Colorado State Public Defender representing the indigent accused. During law school, Ms. Bagley worked for the Colorado Education Association’s legal department, and prior to attending law school, Ms. Bagley was an elementary school teacher in the Aurora, Colorado, public education system. Ms. Bagley has used her background in education when representing teachers who have been falsely accused of child abuse and other criminal charges stemming from their employment.
Outside the practice of law, Ms. Bagley trains for and competes in half-marathons and triathlons, and she participates in all manner of outdoor adventures, from sailing in the Greek islands to zip-lining through tropical forests in Central America.
